Patricia Nobuko Skinner, 84, passed Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at her home in Medford, Oregon. She was born January 1, 1932 in Tokyo, Japan.
She met Donald G. Skinner while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force and stationed in Japan. They married in 1958 and together they added three kids to their family and moved seven times before Don retired from the Air Force in 1974. The family had the opportunity to live on military bases in Japan, Germany, California, South Dakota and New York. Pat was accomplished at painting (including sumi-e, Japanese brush painting), flower arrangement, gardening and sewing. She was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed playing mah-jongg and dominos with her friends and was previously on a number of bowling teams. She was a member of the Japanese Association of Southern Oregon.
She is survived by her husband Don, a son Chris Skinner of Los Angeles, California and a daughter Lisa Skinner of Medford, Oregon and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, siblings and a son, Dan Skinner.
A memorial service will be held at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford, Monday, July 18, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. Please see www.memorygardensmortuary.com.
